Great Expectations Analysis: Symbolism of Chapters 1 & 2

We’ve begun reading the book mentioned above this week, and I’ve found it to be captivating and very well-written right off the bat. I can’t wait to read more and get answers to my many questions, including but not limited to: What happened to Mrs. Joe Gargery that makes her so abusive to her husband and brother? Who is the man with the iron on his leg and what is his past? How did Pip’s parents and younger brothers die? All of these questions will most likely be discussed in later posts, but today let’s discuss the man with the iron on his leg and the “younger man” that he mentions.

Summer Weddings

 

This summer, both of my cousins had weddings and my family got to help set them up, take them down, and enjoy every moment in between! My only first cousins are Patrick and Meredith, who are kids of my mom’s older brother. Spencer Stewart and his wife Staci live in Santa Ynez Valley, which is right outside of Santa Barbara, California.
